InstaFriday

Link up your silly, sweet moments from the week using nothing but cell phone pictures!

Sometimes it’s the bitty moments you capture in the most unexpected times that tell the best stories.

We’re all about scrambled eggs or oatmeal with blueberries on most mornings.

I like to pretend that I buy sugary cereal every once in a while to be the cool mom.

But really, it’s me that wants the bowl.

The kids think I’m awesome and I get to eat a terribly processed bowl of sugar for breakfast.

Win win.

Henry’s preschool had a Thanksgiving feast/party thing.

I volunteered to bring a dessert.

Individual cakes in a mason jar and Meg’s cool whip frosting.

I kid you not, it was like I was a superhero.

“You MADE that frosting?!”  “Your frosting was the hit of the meal!” “I can’t believe that frosting!!!”

So thanks Meg.  Maybe now they’ll forget all those times I was late picking him up.

Or dropping him off in yoga pants and a lopsided ponytail.

My favorite soup of all time?

Brocolli cheese.

I’ve made at least 10 different recipes over the years and they’ve all been “meh”.

But not this one.

Oh my.

It was good.

Even if my kids thought I was feeding them poison.

This box was on my porch by 7:30 in the morning.

I squealed with delight.

And bounced around the house like a schoolgirl at a Justin Bieber concert.

Because inside was my new Kindle Touch.

On my doorstep by 7:30 a.m. on the day it came out.

Amazon, you rock.

Yes, yes, I took the plunge.

The girl who sat on the library floor in the wee hours of the night during college because she loved doing researched the old fashioned way.  By pouring through books…not internet searches.

So for me to not only actually buy a Kindle…but to also be giddy about it…that’s saying a lot.

InstaFriday is late today because of the holiday and visiting and taking some much needed time as a family.

Where I got to watch this colorful girl try to fish the pennies out of the fountain and otherwise have those little moments that all kids seem to have.

Skipping, giggling, laughing and just plain having fun.

It’s been good.

So good.

Now it’s your turn!!!

Grab a button, link up and visit at least two other InstaFridayers!

I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving and enjoyed the time with family!

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

I tried to talk my husband into wanting the new kindle for Christmas… he’s not convinced yet…

I would have asked for it myself, but looks like I’m getting a silhouette…

the cake looks great! I’ve been wanting to try that frosting, I’m betting it’s good!

If it’s an internet recipe I would love your soup recipe! I made the Pioneer Woman versions a few weeks ago and I felt like it was missing something. Oh, and I really want a Kindle Touch too, but I begged and pleaded for a Kitchen Aide Stand mixer and that kinda does it for me for Christmas. Oh, and if my kids don’t get cereal for breakfast they complain that they didn’t have “real” breakfast. If I ever get a smart phone or blog again, I will have to link up. Have a great weekend!

Love your cakes in a jar! So fun, cute & delish all at the same time.
And I seriously need to try the soup recipe – buying it at Costco is too expensive.
Also, the Kindle – is it worth it, you think? I love books too, and libraries with real books, and I’m kind of afraid to jump on the digital train … hmmm … Maybe I need to see what all the fuss is about ;)
