It’s baaaaack!

We took a one week hiatus to accomodate The Happy Day Project.

Did you do any of the tasks?  One?  All?

Be sure to link up if you did HERE!

Summer is gone but Costco still had some pineapples.

One last pineapple before we have to wait months for their sweet goodness again.

When littles can drink the juice right out of the rind.

So sweet.  For so many reasons.

My Lite Brite was a big box of a thing that plugged into the wall.

The new ones are much smaller and take batteries and even turn themselves off after 3 minutes.

I still miss the big behemouth I used to play with.

I’m kinda wanting to look for an old one on Ebay.

“When I was your age, our Lite Brites were fire hazards!”

But this will do in the meantime.

I’ve been trying to read this book
for two years now.

But each time I’ve tried, I haven’t been able to make it through the first chapter without turning into a snot nosed mess.

I finally got through…and read the whole thing in just a few days.

It is heartbreaking.  It is powerful.  It will ruin you.

I dare you to read it.

(Btw, it’s only $2.51 if you get the Kindle version!)

I and my little trailer pulling the girls and my boy and his two wheels often go for little rides throughout the neighborhood.

It’s a nice way to get out and enjoy the late afternoon while killing some energy before Daddy comes home.

This day I was taunted with jeers of “Come on slow poke!!!”

Seriously kid?

I’ll smoke you.

Little punk.

Therapy sessions at the local children’s museum continue weekly.

Where Jill likes to ride the tractor.

She’s so bitty in that big green contraption…and when she honks the horn when you say “beep beep!” it may very well be the best part of my week.

I painted my toes this fun glitterific happiness.

This isn’t just glitter polish.

It’s GLITTER.  LOTS of solid, straight up, thick glitter.

It ain’t ever coming off.  I’m not even gonna try.  Lindsey called it concrete on your toes.  Pretty concrete.

Fifty years from now, the embalmer at the mortuary is gonna be like “Hey!  Look at this sassy old lady with her glittery toes!”

And Henry’s gonna have to be like “Nah.  She did that when she was thirty.  It just never came off.”

True story I’m sure.  It’s like I’m a prophet.

Alright folks, I missed you last week!  I didn’t realize how much I really enjoyed seeing everyone’s Instagrams until I didn’t do it!!!

Grab a button, link up and don’t forget to leave comment love on at least two other InstaFridayers!  Comments are happy and we like happy around here.

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

i love the glitter polish! if it weren’t so hard to take off, i’d totally rock it all the time. actually, i guess i could just do one application of it and rock it all the time. :)

I have got to try some glitter polish for my toe nails. I normally igore my toe nails during the winter, but I’m thinking that needs to change.

Jeanette, I love reading your blog. Your so witty but always have something worth while to say. Thanks for the plug about “There is no me without you”. We adopted from Ethiopia 2 years ago and I listened to that book on CD while we were waiting to travel to pick up our little girl. I wish more people would invest the time and emotions to reading it and then doing something about the orphan epidemic. Thanks again for being so real and investing in others.

Why is it that we can’t get glitter concrete off our own nails, but when painted on a toddler’s nails it takes them approximately 0.02 seconds to chip it off? I’ll never understand.

The light bright comment made me laugh. And I bought glitter polish just yesterday and love it! It’s so fun!

We have one somewhere in our attic you can have if my “kids” will let me give it to you!!

Oh my gosh it has been so long since I’ve used glitter nail polish. But it is true, that stuff is like concrete! Too bad since it is so fun :). And I can’t wait until my daughter is old enough to use a lite brite! That thing rocks.

i was just reading this month’s Real Simple and saw a solution for removing glitter polish. I rushed over to your blog to pass on the tip! It says to soak a piece of felt in polish remover then press it against the nail for 30 seconds before wiping. The fibers in the felt are supposed to help remove the sparkles! I haven’t tested this…but if it works, let me know!

I had the original LiteBrite too! It was black and white and huge. I kinda miss the old fashioned one too because you could plug it in all night and have a pretty little colorful night light.
