Ode to Pinterest

I’ve mentioned Pinterest on here before, right?

Some of you are already addicted members.

For those of you that have yet to experience the happiness that is Pinterest, I thought I’d tell you a little about it.

So, do you ever read blogs and see really cool ideas and think “That’s so fun!  I totally gotta remember that next Halloween!”

Mm-hm.

Right.

And, Halloween comes and goes, and that cute little bat specimin in a shadow box is looooong forgotten.

OR…you remember, but after 15 minutes googling every possible word combination, you just. can’t. find. it?

I mean, sure you can bookmark sites, but after about 10 bookmarks of crafty fun, your husband gets annoyed that the bookmarks to important stuff, like you know, the mortgage payment site, is buried amid glow in the dark slime recipes and spring wreaths.

Lo siento.

Enter Pinterest.

See a fun tree swing you want to recreate when you have trees big enough to hold it?

A simple tabletop decoration for the fall?

A fun room that inspires you?

A simple art piece?

A wall to wall bookshelf that will, somehow, someway live in your house.

(You install a little button in your toolbar that you click to “pin” the photo and the site it came from.)

Oh, and the idea of “pinning”…they describe it as a virtual bulletin board that you pin inspiration onto.

Okay, but actually, my favorite part?

It gets better.

You follow other people too.

SOOOOOO, you get to see what they pin!

Why does this matter?

I regularly think to myself: “Man, there are so many amazing blogs out there, I just don’t have the time to read them!”

Here’s what my Pinterest page looks like when I sign on.

See all the funness? (is that a word?  probably not.)

What Pinterest inadvertantly does is creates a way for you to see the best of the best in blogland.

The more people you follow that have the same style/interests as you, the cooler ideas you have at your fingertips!

You can also search Pinterest…so if you are throwing a baby shower, you can search and have a bunch of them pop right up.

So fun.

So addicting.

Gotta go. I have more pinning to do!!!

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

i did something similar with whole coffee beans & white candles. i love the smell of coffee, but do not really like the taste. as the beans loose their fragrance if you just stirring them around they becomes more fragrant again!!

SO addicted!! Just the other day I was doing the Google search of a Fourth of July dress that I saw last year and all I could think was I wish that Pintrest had been around then.
