InstaFriday

Happy Friday everyone!

If you were here earlier to link up, sorry about that!  I was feeling crummy last night and couldn’t bring myself to, you know, be on top of things and get the post ready.

Sorry!

As always, InstaFriday is a silly way to document the everyday moments and share what you’ve been up to.

Any camera is fine, it doesn’t have to be an iPhone using Instagram, it just made for a cute name!  :)

White chocolate macadamia nut cookies = the way. to. my. heart.

I get downright mean when we have a box of these.

I do not share.

So this…the last and final cookie?

True love.

You have no idea.

You’ve been to the Home Depot Kid’s Workshops right?

They do them the first Saturday of every month.

I always forget, but when I do remember, Henry gets a major kick out of it.

This week we made a coaster holder.

So practical.

Perhaps next week we will make a denture tray.

The kids planted little flowers at Sunday School.

“Mommy I made this for you for your kitchen!”

Just scrape me up off the floor.  A pile of mush.

It’s unfortunate that the little daisies are just dried out little sticks by now.

Apparently the 10 cent goldfish of the flora world.

You just gasped right now didn’t you?

I totally heard it.

My sweet friend Lindsey (who doesn’t have a blog but should!) and her new husband Brenden (he says it was his idea) out of the blue decided to buy me a present.

I still have no idea why.

They are silly.

But I love love love love love love love it.

Isn’t it just perfectly happy and fun?!

Look at it again.

Yes, just perfect.

(Purse from The Plum Pin Cushion.)

Looks like I’m on a yellow kick lately!

I got this gigantic yellow pot for dirt cheap ($15!) at Ross a month or so ago.

And on 4th of July I finally had a reason to use it’s happy hugeness.

I had some random time to kill the other day and found myself at McDonald’s for their free WiFi.

Across from me was this man.

Look closely.

That’s a landline telephone.

Dude was set up and cozy for the day.

“So, when are you heading back to the States?”

Another call: “So, what are you…3 or 4 hours ahead?”

Don’t know if there is a way to make calls through the internet using a regular phone, or if he found a little plug in the wall, but I was sorta speechless and oddly intrigued.

Hey look!

Aren’t we cute?!

Having a little picnic?

Oh wait, no.

That’s us.

On a tiny little sliver of grass.

In a parking lot.

Sitting on a blanket that I always have in the back of my car.

Because my battery died.

I pulled the “I have three little kids with me and it’s really hot” card.

AAA dude was there in 15 minutes.

Not bad.  Not bad at all.

Okay, so it’s your turn to link up!

But I have a new “rule” (that I have no way of checking and/or enforcing so just go with it) visit the two link ups before you and leave some comment love!  Why?  I mean, isn’t it fun to get comments?  So, really…because it’s nice!  And we all want an extra dose of nice on a Friday, right?  :)

Also, for all you InstaFriday-ers…don’t forget to come back on Monday, k?

I have some fun stuff planned.  :)

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

Wow, I love your new bag! What a great reason to have a spontaneous picnic. Thankfully you didn’t have to wait too long.

Unless I have an issue with copy/paste, your little button never works on my blog. :(

My aunt was telling me about this thing she has for her iPhone that plugs in and has a receiver like a normal land line… She bought it in Paris! It’s so random & cool. Maybe that’s what your mcdonalds friend had! Ha ha

That purse is so cute! So CUTE! The thing at McDonald’s is really strange. Sometimes I see odd things like that, but I’m too embarrassed to take a photo. You had me laughing at the Home Depot workshop “make a denture tray” I grew up with my grandparents, so for some reason that was hilarious to me! Thanks for hosting the fun link up. It’s one of my favorites. Have a great weekend!

I’m thinking that guy at mcdonalds must not have a cell phone.

    Shannon says:

The guy at McDonald’s probably has a Magic Jack. A portable phone jack that you plug into you computer on one end, and any landline type phone on the other. it’s about $50 dollars for the product and then about $10 or $20 dollars per YEAR to run. You can call anywhere in the world, for no extra cost. The good thing is that you can pick any area code. So when my Husband and I lived in Canada, we had a Southern California area code, so that it was not long distance for his family to call us. And Now that we live in Southern California we have an Alberta, Canada area code so my family can call us at no extra cost. It includes an answering machine service, that will e-mail you the message (I love this feature) so you can listen to the message anywhere you can log onto you e-mail. You can also call forward the number to your cell, or an actual home phone.

I love your pot. I really want one like that, I think it would look so cheery just sitting on my stove, my husband on the other hand thinks I am nuts. (not that he needs too much in the way of convincing these days…LOL) I will be back later after I take the girls to the beach for the afternoon to read and comment on all of the posts! Thanks for hosting, I am glad I finally got to play along…you know…two weeks late!

Omg…you had me laughing through this whole post! I love that purse & totally want friends like that (I mean mine are good & all but a random pretty gift like that?!). I also almost peed myself when you talked about that dude & the land line phone! Does McDonald’s know he sets up shop there? I wonder how often he does said business? haha! & then your impromptu picnic? The best!

    Thanks again for hosting InstaFriday!

Great story! I love that the AAA guy came so fast, being stuck anywhere with 3 kids is no fun. My car broke down 3 times in 2 weeks just before summer, my husband travels A LOT. So he came on a Friday, bought a new car on Saturday and flew out again on Sunday. Man I love that man! Maybe I should give him a cookie?

ok. Every time I read your blog you take me back to when my Andrew was little. But this time, I had to tell you instead of just thinking it. When my Andrew was 6 or 7, I found this guy who did “woodshop” for kids out of an old school bus. I hired him for his birthday party. His business was Woody’s Woodshop and he pulled the old bus into my driveway. 7 little boys were busy and happy making birdfeeders, or napkin holders, or something like that. Maybe for Henry’s next b-day, you could just haul all his friends to Home Depot?
