For those of you reading through email feed or a reader, you’re gonna have to click over to my actual blog today.
Here, I’ll wait for you.

YAY! HI!
Life Rearranged got herself a little facelift!
Okay, maybe not a facelift, but she went to one of those fancy salons where they wear all black and Pierre (trained by Vidal Sassoon himself) does his magic, and she reemerges a more amazing version of herself.
Except that Vidal Sassoon in the blog design world goes by the name of Darcy at Graphically Designing.
No, for reals.
She’s amazing.
The best of the best.
I’m honored to even be among her client list! Seriously. Not even being dramatic.
So why the change up?
#1) I needed my site to run more smoothly from a technical standpoint.
Many of you may have noticed that my site took a long time to load. That sidebar images were sometimes there, sometimes not. And on the backend, I struggled with a lot of issues from a computer-y standpoint. I really needed someone to go into the guts of my blog and give it a good cleaning. Make it work the way it was supposed to. Make it leaner, meaner, faster, stronger.
#2) I wanted the content to be easily accessible.
There is so much great content from guest bloggers, so many resources, and so much love on this blog that I wanted it to be easy to get to. The last design was starting to look cluttered. Like a craft project that you add one too many pom poms to and then it looks like a mexican fiesta. (Love you Linds!)
I was kinda feeling like my blog was doing that too. A little much. Not horrible, but it could use some streamlining…especially since I was hoping to add MORE information to an already jam packed space.
#3) I’ve always wanted to have the logo I originally envisioned from Day One.
Have you ever wondered about the Life Rearranged tree? Like, what does that have to do with ANYTHING? Other than a possible “Tree of Life” reference, it was random if you really stoppped to think about it. My original vision for my logo was to have a girl swinging from a tree swing. Her head thrown back, feet high in the air, and hair blowing behind her.
Life is crazy.
Life isn’t always what you thought it would be.
BUT ENJOY THE RIDE.
Let the breeze run up between your toes and through your knotted hair.
And breathe.
Because it is what it is, and you might as well have fun with it.
See? I can be poetic and symbolic and such too! ;)
A couple weeks ago, in the throes of the design, Andy and I were watching Parenthood with Steve Martin and this scene played and I thought “YES! That’s EXACTLY what I mean!!!”
Darcy said the girl image also fit well with the overarching theme of motherhood that is always present in this blog. The faceless child. The everyday.
Told you she’s good.
Anyway, with my original design, I couldn’t find the swing/girl image I wanted, we were running out of time, and the site just needed to get launched. So, the plan was to “let’s just get it up and we’ll add the girl in a few weeks when I find something I like.”
14 months later.
Story of my life.
Now…
Darcy is a night owl. Stays up until the wee hours of the night.
I am an early riser. I get up in the wee hours of the morning.
So there’s a few links that go nowhere, some pages that need updating, etc. since my site went live well after I had been drooling on myself. I’ll get that stuff going today during naps.
Or while the kids are watching Tangled. Not gonna lie.
A big, huge thank you to Miss Darcy (who also has a great blog on top of all the other 4,000 things she does.)
Who probably wanted to stab me with a fork more than once.
“Let’s do this.” “Okay, no let’s change it. I don’t like it anymore.” “Wait, I kinda like it again. Go back.” “Actually…”
Hope you like the new look as much as I do!
Happy Tuesday friends!!!
It looks absolutely beautiful J! Bravo to Darcy and you for having a vision and staying true to it, even after a year. Now if I could get on Darcy’s client list I’d be happy! :)
