I will begin this week’s InstaFriday with a picture of what might quite possibly be The World’s Ugliest Bookend.
And yet, I love this hideous jowl cheeked bulldog head. All serious and wrinkled.
Partially because he (and his twin dog brother) help keep Henry’s bookshelf organized, but mostly because I just can’t get over how ugly he is.
It’s kinda got that whole Charlie Brown Christmas Tree thing going for it.
He was on clearance for $4. I felt a little like I rescuing him.
Speaking of hideous…
I realize that my uniform of yoga pants, flip flops and pony tail isn’t about to win me any fashionista awards…
And yet, I can’t quite get over the ankle socks with peep toe patent leather stillettos look Kohl’s was rocking this week.
I feel really old all of a sudden.
Cotton pickin’ kids and their crazy fashions!
My girls need new dresses like they need a hole in the head.
But happy lemon yellow and the prettiest coral pink you ever did see?
Be prepared to see these dresses a lot in the coming weeks…because my girls will be wearing these every single day until they outgrow them.
Did I mention that they’re bright sunshine-y yellow and rosey pink???!!!
Besides, BOTH dresses cost me the equivalent of 5 gallons of gas.
My tank holds 22 gallons.
Excuse me while I go puke.
The more Jilly is able to move around and the stronger she gets, the more I see them interacting.
And I cannot convey to you how *happy* it makes me to see my girls playing together.
Because the fact that Jill CAN play alongside her twin sister…well, that’s just nothing short of heart swelling.
The kind of heart swell that you are convinced that if it weren’t for your rib cage, it would just burst into a million pieces?
Yeah. Totally that kind.
Painting. Painting. More painting.
In my next life I shall come back as a rich princess who just pays other people to do her painting.
Because by now, I’m certain I’ve painted enough for a handful of lifetimes.
Some friendly motherly advice for you on this Friday?
Giving your kids a bowl of yogurt as a way to keep them occupied while you paint (see above)…
not the best idea.
FYI.
But that face? That goofy little smile with big front teeth peeking through? Mush. Total, how can I be mad, MUSH.
My happy little coffee coat.
With little x’s and o’s.
All handstitched and adorable.
I feel fancy drinking expensive hot chocolate.
The folks at Starbucks always commend me on my “greenery”…too bad they don’t realize that I really only use it because it’s CUTE. Evs.
You can have one too (maybe)…have you entered the Knitty Bitties giveaway yet?
Okay, you’re turn! Link up your cell phone pics from this week! Visit one another and leave eachother some comment love!
Love this, I can’t wait to link up next week! Happy Easter :)
if that bookend was chocolate it would be really good.
