Between Appointments

***PHOTOS: For some reason, some people can see photos, and others can’t.  I think it must be a bug in wordpress because there’s nothing consistent about it.  This post should have 9 images.  Dont see them?  Try refreshing the page?  Still nothing?  Try going directly to the home page www.liferearranged.com and from there click the “blog” button at the top…?  This is crazy!  Anyone computer-y know how to help???***

Life has been extra busy with all of our appointments, sessions and medical-y stuff…

but we’ve been trying to soak up the GORGEOUS weather around these parts as best we can.

Beware: the next few posts will be  “look at obnoxious photos of my kids” posts.

***

Henry’s grandpa sent the kids money for Christmas…and specifically requested that we not get anything “boring” for Henry with it…”like clothes…it has to be something fun…”  We’ve held onto the money all this time because we couldn’t think of anything “un-boring” that the kid needed/wanted/didn’t already have.

Andy has been *DYING* to get Henry a Peg Perego Gaucho since he found out they existed.

A Gaucho is a bigger, beefier version of the Power Wheels you see at Toys R Us.

A Gaucho is fashioned after a Toyota LandCruiser.

My husband’s not so secret obsession.

A Gaucho runs $600-700.

Not gonna happen.

Enter my BFF: Craigslist.

$100.

Which also, conveniently, happens to be exactly how much Grandpa sent.  Holla!

Andy’s plan is to completely restore this one…and paint it the same red as his.

So they can match.  You know.

I’m sure there will be a post about this “resoration project” in the future.

There’s been a lot of Gaucho riding in our cul-de-sac lately.  Lucy doesn’t seem totally impressed by it, but her brother regularly requests that she go with him.

So it is.

Should I worry about putting my 9 month old into a motorized vehicle commandeered by her 2 year old brother?

Probably.

But I don’t.

Because I’m decidedly anti-neurotic about stuff like that.

This will probably come back to bite me someday…

Treating ourselves to some frozen yogurt after a long day of Gaucho-ing doesn’t hurt either.

Can I just say that I would have *NEVER* allowed Henry even a LICK of frozen yogurt.  Enter the second (and third) children.  Whatevs.  We’re good.  (That was for you Julie.)

Rainboots.  Hot.

Henry’s concoction: vanilla yogurt, circus animal crackers, mini m&m’s, rainbow sprinkles, and gummi bears.  NAS.ty.

Could you just EAT her?!

Love this girl.

As a point of reference…her shoes?…size NEWBORN.  She’s 9 months old.  :)

(Teeny update on Jill.  We had her labs run yesterday, hope to get them back in 5 business days.  She also had her “clinic appointment” for CCS and the pediatrician and orthopedic surgeon said that the metabolic disorder theory is a good one and seemed to agree with it!  Eek!  Also, Jill scored at the 10 month level cognitively…she was 8 months old at the time…she’s a genius.  What can I say?  Ha!)

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

LOVE Henry’s new ride! YAY for Craigslist! You are brave letting Lucy ride with him…but she’ll be used to it for the future :) Thanks for coming in yesterday & sharing your kids on my b-day! Henry’s boots are adorable…Adam used to wear hawaiian “swimming shorts” with camo shirts & hiking boots all they time. They create their own fashion statements. Wait until the GIRLS create theirs! OMG! The pictures you take are the evidence because they will never believe they dressed themselves like that otherwise!

How about a helmet for Little Lu? I’m sorry to be a backseat mama. I know it’s important not be be uptight and to let them have fun. I know she’s so physically strong. I know she’s buckled in. I know, I know…

But Marissa broke her collarbone while eating at a restaurant. Long Story. One little fall and “snap!” (I wasn’t there. I was trying to get the house clean for a party.) And yes, it healed within two weeks or so, but it was a rough two weeks, and I would like to spare you (And Lu) that experience.

Can we still be friends? I think this is the first time I have ever preached at someone on their own blog. Sorry.

    Hey Jeanette!
Back from yesterday and I have a bit of time to comment! I’m praying for those test results…that metabolic disorder sounds right on the money-not that I’m any expert but seriously hoping that’s the case!
(I have two boys and have just decided not to freak out about anything they do; we have had so many spills that have turned out to be nothing…so I just say a prayer over them everyday and let them go about their business, for the most part!!) They are pretty tough critters!

Yesterday almost six year old Halley wore an 18-24 month bathing suit. She gets her tall skinniness from me, obvees…

The stuff that Janey eats!!! Halley was probably 3 before I let her eat things that JJ has been chowing since 6 months.

Great pics Jeannett. Good grief they are growing. Love Henry’s new wheels
And that he doesn’t mind Lil Sis tagging along. That will be great for when the girls
    Start dating. :)

Anxiously awaiting the results on Jill with the rest of
    The world. PRAYERS. <3
