Daycare Woes

Christine is wonderful. She loves Henry and Henry loves her. It has been a great fit and I’m so happy that it finally all worked out.

Unfortunately, she called this weekend to let me know that her younger brother passed away on Friday night. She’s about my age, so her brother couldn’t have been more than 25. I don’t know what happened, but I am so sad for her. She’s down in So. Cal. helping her mom with funeral arrangements and cleaning out his stuff all week.

My heart goes out to her and her family.

And then there’s the issue that I now have to find someone to take care of Hen on Wednesday and Friday. Last minute.

She was so apologetic about not being here and sticking me with no daycare all week. Poor thing, I told her she was crazy and to not worry about it. “Okay…but give little Hen Ben a kiss and a hug for me…I’m gonna miss him!” And she means it.

Now on to the task of figuring out what to do with this little munchkin…sigh…

Update: My sweet friends Jen and Tracy will be watching him for me tomorrow! Woohoo!

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

If we didn’t live almost an hour away, and we didn’t have the stomach flu, I’d definitely help you out!!

That is so sad! I hope the family can find God’s peace in all of this!

oh no! i’m sorry! and yeah, i’d offer to help out too, but when you factor in the plane ticket, that’s some expensive childcare. :)

maybe someone at grace could do it????
