De-Lurk Here

Why hellllllooooo there!

So, here’s the deal:

I know there’s a lot of you out there.

Don’t think I don’t have Google Analytics installed.

You think you’re sneaky, eh?

Reading my blog, sneaking out the backdoor to meet your other blog boyfriend?

Yeah, well, this mama ain’t dumb.

She hears that screendoor slam shut behind the three inch stillettos you can hardly walk in…

Actually, I totally understand.

I stalk blogs too.

The reality is that I often don’t have time to comment, or I feel like I don’t have anything to say (shocking), or I don’t have both hands free to actually type!

BUT, if you are a blogger, you know what I mean when I say that COMMENTS MATTER.

Honestly, they. make. my. day.

So, take this as a virtual guest book. Complete with a goofy feathered pen. And two little girls standing there supervising.

Take a sec, comment here, say hello, introduce yourself.

It’d make my day.

For reals.

Then you won’t feel so guilty when you think you’re being all stealth.

‘Cuz you’re totally not.

Just so you know.

(credit for de-lurk idea goes to gypsy mama!)

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

Hi ya’ oh the guilt…oh no I left a comment on my insta link up does that cancel out stalking? Love your site and I know it’s a wonderful outlet for people trying to make sense of it all and trying to help, so kudos to you and your site. We have family members with disabilities and I have seen the joy and the struggles these families go through, amazing people with amazing stories.

Hi there! I found your blog through a web of clicking buttons, and I am truly inspired by your purpose here. I recently followed and I’m so glad I did. I will now walk around in heavy cowboy boots, dancing and prancing around like I own the place. SO nice to ‘meet’ you. :)

Hi there! I saw the “de-lurk” tab and immediately laughed — that would be me! Your blog is a real blessing to me. I found you via Wendy over at Tales from the Motherhood on a Friday Insta-Link post. I live in the dark ages with my non-photo-taking cell phone, so I started a series on my blog called “Five Things Friday” and use photos from my trusty “regular” camera instead of my cell phone. I’m going to explain this in tomorrow’s post and give your link! So my five readers can find you. :) Thanks so much for sharing your life and thoughts with us!

This cracked me up! “De-Lurk Here”… yeah, I’m still laughing! I just love it. I completely agree with you. Comments TOTALLY make a bloggers day. I just received two sweet, sweet comments this morning that put a huge smile on my face. I don’t think that smiles left yet! I just thought I’d quickly introduce myself to you as a new reader :) I’m Chelsea & I blog over at Sunny with a Chance of Sprinkles. I just started blogging at the end of May, but have fallen head over heals for this blogging world. It’s amazing how much all of us bloggers connect and care for one another. It’s wonderful :) I hope you have an amazing Friday and an even more amazing weekend!

Hello! Wow, really intrigued! I haven’t read your blog…found it by googling “blog sugar.” Truly sounds inviting. Thank you. New to the blogging world, it’s a bit daunting. There are so many different reasons people blog, and different goals. I find that it’s a beautiful way to share my life, memories and images with my children, family, friends, and anyone who may be interested or inspired! No intention of fame or fortune, but if a post helps one person then I am so happy. I almost find it’s a relief because I have always been horrible with keeping up with baby books and photo albums, letters and Christmas cards. I just love it.
So I’m pre-lurking–and so excited! Thank you!

  14. 265

Hopped to your blog from Simple Mom , I stumbled upon her blog from Incourage,
It is a blessing to read your blog, your strength your determination, faith in God, you and the other parents of children with special needs are spreading around hope , love and good will.

Hi! I found you last night at 2 am through a facebook post from Simple Mom. Bought the book tonight. Love it so far. This self improvement journey feels like the right thing right now. I am newly back to work five months after having my third child (my husband is a stay-at-home dad) and I want to spend every minute I can with my kids.

  16. 267

o lordie, I’m not sure where I found you, but if simple mom is others’ recent reason, that must be how I got here too! :) (too much clicking, combined with chemo brain…) I’m interested and following along, no doubt learning from you as I cultivate my own little corner of the blog universe.

Hey ladies … found this blog through SimpleMom (love her too) and have truly enjoyed the “reality” of your posts. Not just the host, but all the comments. Looking forward to continuing to share our lives so we all don’t feel too alone.

  20. 271

So I better comment here before you figure out from your analytics that I scope your blog out once in a while. I wonder how many guys stop by here? Don’t worry, I’m not a creepy stalker kind of guy, there’s just not a whole lot of people in our little town that get this whole blog thing–in fact, I know of no others. Who else around town would get that I’m only 2 comments away from getting on your top commenter wall–Google likes that top commenter thing for SEO :)

Anyway, here is who I am. I’m a father, husband, and among a lot of other things, I have a little blog about money and being an entrepreneur. I like that kind of nerdy stuff.

  21. 272

I can’t remember how I stumbled onto your site, but I’m glad I did. I know all about life being rearranged as I am just now coming out of a four year battle to save my precious son from the ravages of drugs. GOD IS SO GOOD! The trials are hard, and after His rearrangements are complete, you realize your life is so much better than it was. Thanks for understanding that women do want to connect, share and come alongside. Keep up the good work!

  22. 273

Hey there!!! My name is Jen…if you see someone viewing your site from the Netherlands (and as of next week, Scotland), that’s likely me. Originally from Minnesota, we are across the pond for three years. But one fo the benefits is that I have totally gotten into blogging, and am so glad I found yours!

    Hi,
Not entirely sure how I found you, but when I saw your header with ‘life doesn’t always go as planned’ and in your about me ‘I don’t have it all together. Join the club.’ I knew I had to check in. Thanks for your honesty and your ‘real-ness’. I am looking forward to joining in for some Insta-Friday Fun one day, gotta get an Iphone first :)

Hi Jeannett! I just popped {almost typed ‘pooped’ Ah! Tragic!} over to your blog from Joy’s Hope. My dear husband used his birthday money to buy me an iPhone, so I’m hoping to jump on the insta-Friday bandwagon one of these days. I just have to learn to get my pictures off my phone and onto my computer. BUT…that’s not all that important. I really wanted to tell you that I couldn’t believe my eyes when I read your story about your son and his heart. My baby boy had heart surgery when he was 6 weeks old…and I relate to so much of what you wrote. His pediatrician heard a murmur at his 4 wk. appt. We were referred to a cardiologist…Truett had a CoArc, which is also one of the ‘good’ heart conditions. We were told to wait…but at our second appointment they realized he was getting worse much to quickly, so we were at the hospital two days later watching our baby being walked down the hall into heart surgery. I cried buckets for about 7 minutes and then I had to go to the special ‘pumping’ room. Ugh…what a long day that was! I am so encouraged to see pictures of your little guy…Truett is now 5 months old, and I pray every day that he’ll experience a full, long, healthy life. Thank you for sharing your story! I’m so glad to ‘meet’ you and I’m excited to follow your blog.

  28. 279

I stumbled upon your blog and since this is my first visit, I probably wouldn’t qualify as a chronic lurker (at least not on this site!). However, I thought I’d say hi and thank you so much for what you do. After my grandson suffered an injury during birth, I established Sweet Lemonade – a custom clothing boutique for children with special needs. Let me know if there’s anything I can do!

  29. 280

I found your blog through a series of link and was instantly drawn to your clever wit. Thanks for bringing it!

  30. 281

I thought that was so funny! I admit, I’ve been stalking your blog for a while now. I love comments too on my blog and so wish more people would comment. So, not all the time, but I will be back to comment. Have s great day. Pru

  31. 282

I was on Pinterest and stumbled (no pun intended) upon you. And soooooo glad I did.
I want to have a blog so bad. Just can’t get started.
I love everything about yours and about you. What an inspiration I received tonight just stalking. And yes, you did convince me to post a note. I am late joining but I want to do your Happy Day Project. I’m sure I can catch up. And maybe you and some of your readers can encourage me to get my blog cranked out.
I have a 54 yr old special needs brother. Been that way since he was 9 yrs old. I know all about the trials that come along with that.
Now I can safely “de-lurk” – ha! ha! ha!
    See you soon ~ Kathy

  32. 283

Hi!!! I found your blog through your fundraiser for Xander and you have given me so much to think about this advent. For real, I can’t stop thinking about that little face, and you have just given me the perfect way to spend my Christmas money.

On another note, I just read your getting married post and loved it. We had a similar situation, and I think your story is beautiful. Love your blog!

I love reading your blog! I always feel a bit weird reading so many “mom blogs” as I call them, since I am not a mom–I’m actually a second time college student. But your life and love and stories are inspiring to any believer, so thank you! My life hasn’t gone according to plan, but I love where it is now, and trust God for the future (whatever that might be).

  47. 298
