Things You May Not Have Known

Blogging seems to come in fits and bursts around here. I’m a blogging fool lately!

I’ll consider myself “tagged” since I read Lisa’s blog. Here are 7 things you may not have known about me:

  1. I used to draw. In high school. If you can’t tell, I was totally into celebrities and rock stars. I haven’t drawn anything in years…don’t know if it’s like riding a bike and you never forget…? Not that I have the time to try and find out…

Fiona Apple.

More Fiona Apple.

Random people making out in a shower. Don’t ask.

  1. I would consider myself kind of a no nonsense person. In a lot of ways I think I’ll be the “mean” mom because I have no problem saying no. But for some reason, I’m a total sucker when it comes to Andy. If Henry begged for something, he likely wouldn’t get it. Somehow, if Andy even hints at wanting something, he’ll probably have it within 6 months. For example, take a gander at his latest Christmas gift:

  1. I hate TV. Which makes the gift above all the more meaningful.

  1. I’m an only child with four siblings. My parents divorced when I was three and went on to have more kids with their new spouses. I grew up with them so even though they are technically my half-siblings, I don’t think of it that way (unless I’m explaining it). They are: Diana (21), Justin (17), Marcia (14), Logan (11).

  1. I cannot STAND ranch dressing. I think I’m the only person in California who doesn’t pour it on everything.

  1. All my sheets and towels are white. I hate colored ones.

  1. My worst job ever was working at Victoria’s Secret. Two reasons: 1) I spent more than I made; 2) they took it so seriously…I just wanted to shake the managers and scream: “You sell underwear for a living! Get over yourself!!!”

I'm a mom to four. A wife to one. I believe in story. I love telling you about mine and would love to hear yours. There's really no sense in wasting our suffering and not sharing in each other's joy. We're all in this together...even if it doesn't always feel like it.

okay you are really, really talented!

and, i’m asking: why the random people making out in the shower? :)

  2. 2

LIAR!!! you have soooo understated your creativity!

The shower: that’s really a self portrait of me and Andy…LOL! No, I don’t know…I would just look for ads and stuff in magazines that looked like they had a lot of detail and shading, and between the wet hair, the water and the skin, it looked like a good piece to copy. It’s just kind of random, but besides the content, it’s one of my “better” drawings.

Wow, Lindsey. Easy there girl. You alright? :) Besides, copying magazine ads (ie the shower scene) or photos of celebs isn’t exactly creative. None of it is original.

You are SO GOOD! Seriously, that is some talent right there girl. Very interesting facts about you…my MIL is like that with the towels too. You wouldn’t survive in my house because nothing matches, hehe!

I actually remember when the Dave picture was in the process of being complete. And the Dave Navarro picture… that one was one of my faves. I also told you that you should give me the second Fiona Apple picture. Do you remember that? You did have A TON of talent with the art. Maybe you should think about starting up again. I’d pay you oodles to have you draw my kids when they were cute & little. And I mean, oodles!!!

okay, WOW. those pictures are amazing!!! what on earth?! let’s see more of that!

how do you keep white towels clean? i have off-white towels in the boys bathroom (with jungle designs on them, so i guess they aren’t white in your opinion), and i cannot keep the hand towels from looking dingy.

Marci-Considering that I haven’t even had time to upload pictures for processing, much less getting them into photo albums…drawing anything is a pipe dream. Besides, if I’m going to take the time to draw kids…it’ll start with my own! :)

White towels clean? Bleach. When they start getting dingy, they become Andy’s car washing towels…which means I get a trip to Linens & Things (or Macys)!

Is that your “chicken” logo on the first Fiona drawing??
